A Note:

6/2/13

I once told myself: IF I am accepted into grad school, this blog would no longer be updated. As it turns out, in April, I received news of my acceptance for the Fall 2013 semester, where I will attain a Master's degree of Science in Nutrition.

Running a blog, as many of you may already know, is a demanding side job once the excitement wears off. And once I fell out of the blogging community's loop (have you SEEN how many blogs there are now? Wow!), it was like the kiss of death. Despite my best efforts, I couldn't get into a blogging routine once this happened due to the disconnect I felt from the community.

So I took a break. I struggled with the loss and with missing my blog. And then I realized I didn't have to run Book Faery to still be a book reviewer; I could read my books and post reviews online. I'm still a book review blogger, just not in the traditional sense.

I'll still be online. You can chat with me on Twitter, where I'll be posting links to my reviews and talking books. I'll also be posting links to nutrition articles. And if you'd like to connect with me where I guarantee I will post reviews, just add me as a friend on Goodreads.

So that's all, folks! It's been a fun and amazing journey, and I thank you all for listening to my thoughts about books. I hope we all can keep in touch elsewhere :)

Cover Wars: Red Hot Fury versus The Breeder

Hello and welcome to another installment of...
Cover Wars!
(inspired by Kate's Throwdown Thursday at The Neverending Shelf)

Cover Wars is a weekly post occurring every Monday at Book Faery.  Two covers will have a "face off," and it will be up to the readers to decide who is the victor and who is the loser.  This is a great way for readers to have their voice be heard, while also promoting new/old books in the process.

Last week on Cover Wars, we had a face off between Forgive My Fins by Tera Lynn Childs and Nightshade by Andrea Cremer.

The votes are in, the scores tallied up, and the winner, by an almost unanimous decision is...

Nightshade

Week 3:
Red Hot Fury vs. The Breeder

Both of these ladies are in red.
Both have a tattoo.
Both have dark hair.

redhotfury  Wasteland- The Breeder

The Fury, or (as the title suggests) the Breeder?

Who do you pick, and why?

  1. Huh. Both girls seem pretty skanky, but I pick Red Hot Fury b/c she has an awesome snake tattoo.

  4. Hmm, I don't really love either but I'd have to say the Breeder. Those eyes on Red Hot Fury are creepy!

  6. Hi..
I choose Breeder..The overall cover picture just looks more fiery.

  7. Breeder. Like the others have said, the colors are better. But it also gives us a sense of location.

  8. I like Red Hot Fury better..I like to think because when I get angry my eyes also glow green while I'm wearing my red-leather bustier;)

  9. Tough choice. They are quite similar! The colors on both are great! Toughie!

  10. It's hard to pick which cover. They're very different. Red Hot Fury is all angry with glowing eyes, while the Breeder is all sensual with bright colors. So, I can't really make a choice on which is better. I really like The Breeder cover. It just captures my attention with brighter colors and more depth in the cover.

  11. I have to go with Red Hot Fury, but only because she looks determined to break me if I choose the other one. Also because I wore the same red corset to prom

  12. Red Hot Fury, it immediately catches my eyes with the girl and her intense green eyes and the atmosphere of the black background. It makes me thing it will be a thriller of a book.

  13. Yay, a new one! I'm starting to look forward to these cover wars. ^_^ My pick from the two would be The Breeder. I like the choice of font and the fact that the colors are more vibrant. c:

  14. Aw yay I'm glad to hear that, Grace!

  15. Red Hot Fury, because the background is softer and the overall cover isn't as busy and harsh as The Breeder.
