A Note:

6/2/13

I once told myself: IF I am accepted into grad school, this blog would no longer be updated. As it turns out, in April, I received news of my acceptance for the Fall 2013 semester, where I will attain a Master's degree of Science in Nutrition.

Running a blog, as many of you may already know, is a demanding side job once the excitement wears off. And once I fell out of the blogging community's loop (have you SEEN how many blogs there are now? Wow!), it was like the kiss of death. Despite my best efforts, I couldn't get into a blogging routine once this happened due to the disconnect I felt from the community.

So I took a break. I struggled with the loss and with missing my blog. And then I realized I didn't have to run Book Faery to still be a book reviewer; I could read my books and post reviews online. I'm still a book review blogger, just not in the traditional sense.

I'll still be online. You can chat with me on Twitter, where I'll be posting links to my reviews and talking books. I'll also be posting links to nutrition articles. And if you'd like to connect with me where I guarantee I will post reviews, just add me as a friend on Goodreads.

So that's all, folks! It's been a fun and amazing journey, and I thank you all for listening to my thoughts about books. I hope we all can keep in touch elsewhere :)

Favorite Trio Giveaway

First thing's first: I'm over at DARKLY READING today, doing my very first guest post! You should stop by Heather's blog, because my topic--and her birthday giveaway--actually coincide with each other (plus comments = love).  It's pretty exciting :)  Don't forget to wish Heather a happy, happy birthday while you're there!

Photobucket

I decided, while organizing my book piles (wtf's a bookshelf?!), to do a giveaway before Battle of the Sexies.  The following novels are some of my favorite of all time, which is why I've decided to give one lucky winner one of these prize packs.  The thing is, I'm so swamped with other books to read that I know I won't have a chance to go back and re-read any of these books even though I really want to.  And well, if I decide that I want to later on down the line, I'll just buy the e-book version (because Tori's gettin' herself an e-reader... eventually)

Prize Pack #1
Click here to read the summaries for Anne Bishop's Black Jewel Trilogy.  If you go to read my guest post at Darkly Reading this week, you'll understand why I've included this prize pack.  For those of you curious, this dark fantasy series is the trilogy that started it all for me, and I hold these three books near and dear to my heart.  I love Anne Bishop and her writing.  She definitely knows how to write about alpha males (3 alpha POVs, and they're all SEEEEEEEXY)

And because I couldn't resist, check out this fan video for this series!

Prize Pack #2
Click here to read the summaries for Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series.  Kresley's IAD series was the first paranormal romance books I stumbled upon.  I'm thrilled to include Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night, my all time favorite book, ever.  Seriously.  I've read it 9 times now.  It is that amazing.  I love me some Bowen.

Prize Pack #3
Click here to read the summaries for Patricia Briggs' Alpha and Omega series.  Before stumbling upon Mercy Thompson, I discovered Charles and Anna.  Instantly, I was in love with these two wolves, which, after reading about Bowen and Mariketa (from Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night) helped fuel my werewolf obsession.  I'm sure you can all see how much of an addict I am.

But wait...!

750 followers = 2nd winner
850 followers = 3rd winner

Please Note: Following is not required
in order to be eligible for this giveaway.  I figured if people wanted to increase their chances of winning a prize pack, this would be one of the easiest ways (for everyone involved) to do so.

Giveaway Guidelines:

  1. Open to everyone.  Yes International people, I'm trying to share the love (since I've got some extra money now, and there aren't going to be as many International giveaways in August)
  2. Fill out this form  Comment entries will not be accepted.  You can comment though if you want to be nice.  (It's probably a good way to make sure you don't accidentally re-enter this giveaway later on)
  3.  Giveaway ends 7/14   Be sure to check back after that and see if you've won! Winner(s) will have 48 hours to respond to my email before a new winner is picked.
Extra Entries:
  • Being a blog follower.
  • Tweeting about this giveaway (please @Book_Faery) when you Tweet, thanks.
