A Note:

6/2/13

I once told myself: IF I am accepted into grad school, this blog would no longer be updated. As it turns out, in April, I received news of my acceptance for the Fall 2013 semester, where I will attain a Master's degree of Science in Nutrition.

Running a blog, as many of you may already know, is a demanding side job once the excitement wears off. And once I fell out of the blogging community's loop (have you SEEN how many blogs there are now? Wow!), it was like the kiss of death. Despite my best efforts, I couldn't get into a blogging routine once this happened due to the disconnect I felt from the community.

So I took a break. I struggled with the loss and with missing my blog. And then I realized I didn't have to run Book Faery to still be a book reviewer; I could read my books and post reviews online. I'm still a book review blogger, just not in the traditional sense.

I'll still be online. You can chat with me on Twitter, where I'll be posting links to my reviews and talking books. I'll also be posting links to nutrition articles. And if you'd like to connect with me where I guarantee I will post reviews, just add me as a friend on Goodreads.

So that's all, folks! It's been a fun and amazing journey, and I thank you all for listening to my thoughts about books. I hope we all can keep in touch elsewhere :)

Win a copy of The Lost Saint by Bree Despain (+ super cool nail polish!)

Grace Divine made the ultimate sacrifice to cure Daniel Kalbi. She was infected with the werewolf curse while trying to save him, and lost her beloved brother in the process.

Desperate to find Jude, Grace befriends Talbot, a newcomer to town. But as the two grow closer, Grace’s relationship with Daniel is put in danger — in more ways than one.

Unaware of the dark path she is walking, Grace begins to give into the wolf inside of her — not realizing that an enemy has returned and a deadly trap is about to be sprung.

Bree Despain delivers sizzling romance and thrilling action in the heart-pounding sequel to The Dark Divine.

So, you want to win an ARC of THE LOST SAINT?  Or maybe you want the super cool nail polish that matches the color of the cover?  Well, my duckies, you're in luck!  One lucky participant will receive both!  Just follow the guidelines below:

  10. This will be the first thanksgiving for just me and my son. My mother and my sister's family used to join us, but they decided they didn't want to. I still bought a huge turkey, so we will be eating turkey forever. I will be enjoying my son's company, and eating.

  12. Well of course we're eating all the finery, turkey, rolls, corn, and we have like 5-6 desserts going on! We always have a variety of desserts! Then we end up eating wayyyy too much and we all lay around in the evening saying how full we are!

We used to go to the movies as well, but haven't done that in awhile since my niece is still too young to go to the movies and we don't want to leave anyone behind. If we get too bored or restless we usually go to Kmart or Walmart since they're open. Then we get plenty of rest for the Black Friday madness!!

Although this year, we aren't getting up at the crack of dawn to go out, we'll head out a little later!

  13. Ooooh... wolves with nail polish. That would have me feeling thankful.

For Thanksgiving, I will be with my kooky kinfolk constantly reminding my mom to save the wishbone for me and my sis (something she forgets every year without exception)while I run interference, attempting to guard the bountiful spread from the slavering jaws of four pooches. Big fun for all.

They even catered to my oldest son who is a picky eater and does not enjoy holidays centered around food (namely Thanksgiving) by fixing him a hot dog - are they good grandparents or what? I went away very full and very relaxed. I love Thanksgiving. Oh and I slept in until 9:30 the next morning - no Black Friday for me.
