A Note:

6/2/13

I once told myself: IF I am accepted into grad school, this blog would no longer be updated. As it turns out, in April, I received news of my acceptance for the Fall 2013 semester, where I will attain a Master's degree of Science in Nutrition.

Running a blog, as many of you may already know, is a demanding side job once the excitement wears off. And once I fell out of the blogging community's loop (have you SEEN how many blogs there are now? Wow!), it was like the kiss of death. Despite my best efforts, I couldn't get into a blogging routine once this happened due to the disconnect I felt from the community.

So I took a break. I struggled with the loss and with missing my blog. And then I realized I didn't have to run Book Faery to still be a book reviewer; I could read my books and post reviews online. I'm still a book review blogger, just not in the traditional sense.

I'll still be online. You can chat with me on Twitter, where I'll be posting links to my reviews and talking books. I'll also be posting links to nutrition articles. And if you'd like to connect with me where I guarantee I will post reviews, just add me as a friend on Goodreads.

So that's all, folks! It's been a fun and amazing journey, and I thank you all for listening to my thoughts about books. I hope we all can keep in touch elsewhere :)

In My Mailbox

I've decided that I'm going to participate in this weekly event hosted by Kristi @ The Story Siren.
So I didn't get a lot of books, but I have a lot that I'm getting ready to order pretty soon!  (once I get some money to actually buy them, heh). But here's what I've bought this week!

1. Ravish by Cathy Yardley
Saw a review for this book by Amy J @ My Overstuffed Bookshelf and was tempted to check it out.  The preview pages for it on Amazon made it sound pretty good.  Then again, the first chapter for a lot of books sound good to me haha so let's hope I enjoy it!

2. Unknown by Rachel Caine
I didn't get a chance to order this book as soon as I had wanted to, but I'll be reading this ASAP!

3. Twice as Hot by Gena Showalter
I love Gena's books, so here's to checking out a new universe created by her :D

Like I said, not too much this week.

  3. Hi Tori,
Thanks for becoming a follower on my blog and commenting on my IMM. On The Prowl is pretty good but I really got it because it has an anthology from Sunny that belongs to one of her series that I absolutely love named the Monere Series. Check out the giveaways on my blog I'm giving one of her books away every month. On the Prowl also has a short story that started off the Alpha and Omega series by Briggs which is really good also. I have heard lots of good things about Gena's book but have only read Intertwined and I liked it. I'm going to have to put her adult books on my TBR pile. Well till next..Happy Reading!

  7. Thanks for commenting on my IMM post! And for complimenting my layout--that was very sweet of you :)

I could say the same thing about your books! They ALL sound very interesting but I haven't had the chance to read them either. But there's always time for reading ;)

Anyways, I hope you enjoy all your books!

  11. Thanks for stopping by and following my blog! It gave me a chance to find yours!

I love paranormal romance as well. I'm working on reading the Morganville Vampire series by Rachel Caine, and they're pretty good so far (I've only read the first 5 though)! Haven't heard of Unknown, but I'd definitely be up for trying another one of her books. Thanks for the heads up! :)

  12. Natalie: No problem, I love the layout you've got! :)

Have you read the Weather Warden series yet? I'd suggest not starting Unknown until you've gone through those first, otherwise you're going to be a bit confused with that world. There are slight allusions to the other books, but it doesn't hinder the reader too much if they start with this series instead.

I haven't read the Morganville Vampire series yet, I've been dying to start it though!

  13. Nope, I haven't read the Weather Warden series yet, but they're on my TBR list! Hopefully I'll get around to them sometime soon!

And you definitely should read the Morganville Vampires series. They're pretty good and they're really quick reads!
