A Note:

6/2/13

I once told myself: IF I am accepted into grad school, this blog would no longer be updated. As it turns out, in April, I received news of my acceptance for the Fall 2013 semester, where I will attain a Master's degree of Science in Nutrition.

Running a blog, as many of you may already know, is a demanding side job once the excitement wears off. And once I fell out of the blogging community's loop (have you SEEN how many blogs there are now? Wow!), it was like the kiss of death. Despite my best efforts, I couldn't get into a blogging routine once this happened due to the disconnect I felt from the community.

So I took a break. I struggled with the loss and with missing my blog. And then I realized I didn't have to run Book Faery to still be a book reviewer; I could read my books and post reviews online. I'm still a book review blogger, just not in the traditional sense.

I'll still be online. You can chat with me on Twitter, where I'll be posting links to my reviews and talking books. I'll also be posting links to nutrition articles. And if you'd like to connect with me where I guarantee I will post reviews, just add me as a friend on Goodreads.

So that's all, folks! It's been a fun and amazing journey, and I thank you all for listening to my thoughts about books. I hope we all can keep in touch elsewhere :)

Break Time!

THIS is me right now, drowning in work for the last week of classes.  Every. single. day this week (and then the Monday next week) I will be working on a new project for my classes.

Because of that, and because I'm feeling pressure from my TBR pile, I'm going on a bit of a reading/reviewing/blogging hiatus.  It'll either last for a week or until the 20th, which is the last day of my final exams.  (And boy is it a doozie.  Math AND Italian on the same day, 30 minutes apart.  I'm weeping emo-demonic tears right now just thinking about it.)

I'll announce all my giveaway winners around the 14th-ish, so I can get books shipped out ASAP, but aside from that, don't expect a post for a week or two.  I'll also be hosting a giveaway with a very special blogger on the 13th, so keep an eye out for that also! :)

Hmm... maybe I'll actually have time to stop by blogs and leave comments FOR ONCE!

  4. Lj, thanks for the support :) The extra week off between my last class & my final sounds more and more enticing without having to worry about my blog. I think I might do that.

Smash, thank you! I've been counting down the days with my friends... Cannot WAIT!

Cameron, thank you so much, and good luck to you too! We're almost done, and then we're free for a few weeks!

  5. I recently had my School Certificate (Instead of SATs in Yr Ten, we get the SC here in Oz) and while the exams themselves weren't hard, the pressure of it was so stressful! While your uni exams are a lot more important, I do understand and I know that you'll breathe that big sigh of relief when you put down your pen in your last exam! Good luck! :)

  9. Bella, college finals are the worst time when it comes to doing anything. It's like all life comes to a halt as a person begins studying. Also, I hope you're feeling better now! Taking a break is definitely needed, both for you and me.

Re picture: I did a random Google search LOL.

  11. I got my results back just yesterday, Tori. I was surprised that my results were that good. I expected much lower, considering that I didn't really study or anything, ha ha.

  12. Thank you Susan! :)

Alice, well I'm glad to hear that you did better than you expected. Don't you just love when that happens, especially when you don't really study for the exam?

I had a math test this past Wednesday and kind of studied for it... not nearly as hard as the first two exams this semester; I'm not sure how I'm going to do on it. Thinking I'll probably score way lower than the first to tests, but we'll see on Monday *bites nails*
