A Note:

6/2/13

I once told myself: IF I am accepted into grad school, this blog would no longer be updated. As it turns out, in April, I received news of my acceptance for the Fall 2013 semester, where I will attain a Master's degree of Science in Nutrition.

Running a blog, as many of you may already know, is a demanding side job once the excitement wears off. And once I fell out of the blogging community's loop (have you SEEN how many blogs there are now? Wow!), it was like the kiss of death. Despite my best efforts, I couldn't get into a blogging routine once this happened due to the disconnect I felt from the community.

So I took a break. I struggled with the loss and with missing my blog. And then I realized I didn't have to run Book Faery to still be a book reviewer; I could read my books and post reviews online. I'm still a book review blogger, just not in the traditional sense.

I'll still be online. You can chat with me on Twitter, where I'll be posting links to my reviews and talking books. I'll also be posting links to nutrition articles. And if you'd like to connect with me where I guarantee I will post reviews, just add me as a friend on Goodreads.

So that's all, folks! It's been a fun and amazing journey, and I thank you all for listening to my thoughts about books. I hope we all can keep in touch elsewhere :)

Clarity Giveaway!

CLARITY has been one of those YA debuts that everyone seems to be talking about. I'm sure that many of you are dying to get your hands on a copy of this to see for yourselves whether or not the buzz is deserved. Well guess what? It's your lucky day!

Check out my review of CLARITY!
(coming soon!)

Two people who leave a comment on this post will receive their very own hardcover copy of CLARITY by Kim Harrington! Curious about what this book is about?

Clarity “Clare” Fern sees things. Things no one else can see. Things like stolen kisses and long-buried secrets. All she has to do is touch a certain object, and the visions come to her. It’s a gift. And a curse. When a teenage girl is found murdered, Clare’s ex-boyfriend wants her to help solve the case—but Clare is still furious at the cheating jerk. Then Clare’s brother, who has supernatural gifts of his own, becomes the prime suspect, and Clare can no longer look away. Teaming up with Gabriel, the smoldering son of the new detective, Clare must venture into the depths of fear, revenge, and lust in order to track the killer. But will her sight fail her just when she needs it most?

Kim Harrington lives in Massachusetts with her husband and son. She has no psychic powers and is cool with that. Clarity is her debut novel. Visit her online at www.kimharringtonbooks.com.

You can also find her on Facebook and Twitter.

Giveaway Guidelines:
* Open to US residents only.

  4. I can see why this would be a gift but I think I'd end up thinking of it as a curse because she doesn't get to choose to see this and she probably sees a lot of negative stuff.

  9. Oh I've been dying to read this!!!

As to the powers, I think I would view them as a curse, depending on how much control I had over them. I like going through life not knowing a bunch of stuff about other people.

  10. I think it would be a curse. Almost everything around us has been touched. You wouldn't ever be able to touch anything without seeing something. It would not be a great way to live. I would love to read the book.

  15. I really like the sound of this book.

While I think learning about things would be interesting, it would be a gift only if I could control it. Seeing the history of just about everything I touched would be overwhelming.

  16. I think having her powers would be cool. You could see past the things people want you to see. Sometimes, this could be construed as a curse. Lots of negative energy out there. I think I would rather have it than not.

  21. This looks like a book that is definately going to be on my TBR list... I would have to say that I would view Clare's ablility as more of a curse overall. To never be able to touch something without being invaded by visions from some one else, to feel the same feelings as another had at one time, and not to mention how much you would be asked to help with other people's problems/ deaths/ mysteries; Clare probably can never have a peaceful carefree day to enjoy things on her own! But still sounds like a sweet read though!!!

  55. I think it would be a curse as you have to touch so many things in a days time, and I'm sure most objects have a "history" tied to them. I realize the ability has the potential to do a lot of good, but to keep my sanity intact I would only want it if I could shut it off by wearing gloves or something similar.
