A Note:

I once told myself: IF I am accepted into grad school, this blog would no longer be updated. As it turns out, in April, I received news of my acceptance for the Fall 2013 semester, where I will attain a Master's degree of Science in Nutrition.

Running a blog, as many of you may already know, is a demanding side job once the excitement wears off. And once I fell out of the blogging community's loop (have you SEEN how many blogs there are now? Wow!), it was like the kiss of death. Despite my best efforts, I couldn't get into a blogging routine once this happened due to the disconnect I felt from the community.

So I took a break. I struggled with the loss and with missing my blog. And then I realized I didn't have to run Book Faery to still be a book reviewer; I could read my books and post reviews online. I'm still a book review blogger, just not in the traditional sense.

I'll still be online. You can chat with me on Twitter, where I'll be posting links to my reviews and talking books. I'll also be posting links to nutrition articles. And if you'd like to connect with me where I guarantee I will post reviews, just add me as a friend on Goodreads.

So that's all, folks! It's been a fun and amazing journey, and I thank you all for listening to my thoughts about books. I hope we all can keep in touch elsewhere :)

Review Policy

PLEASE NOTE:  
For the time being, Book Faery will not be accepting review requests from self published or small press authors. 
If we have worked with you in the past, we will be happy to work with you again in the future. This notice does not apply to publishers/publicists we have a working relationship with--only authors, and only for the time being as we get our review piles under control.


Genres we read:
  • Urban Fantasy
  • Romance (Paranormal, Historical, Highlander) 
  • Young Adult (PNR, UF, Dystopian, Steampunk, Fantasy, Horror)
  • Dark Fantasy
  • Steampunk
  • Some Horror
  • Some Graphic Novels
  • Some Science Fiction
If it has paranormal elements, chances are it will intrigue one of the reviewers here.

Of course there are always exceptions to the rule; Book Faery has featured Contemporary YA, Literary Fiction, and Historical Romance reviews. If you are unsure, please email Tori for more information.

Books are primarily reviewed here, however, if you have a product or service that may appeal to this blog's audience, please contact us.
  
Acceptable Book Formats
  • Print
  • ARCs: both printed and digital galleys
  • Ebooks (.mobi or PDF)
   
Book Series
If you want us to read and review a book that is part of a series we have never read, copies of the earlier books may be requested (and individually reviewed).  This will allow us to give a more thorough review of your novel since we will then have a better understanding of the universe and its characters.
 

Review Time Frame
Priority goes to ARCs that were accepted for review. These reviews will be typically be posted a week before that book's release date.

Released titles can take anywhere from three to six months to be reviewed--sometimes shorter, sometimes longer.

Unsolicited books may or may not be reviewed; it all depends on our TBR piles and reviewer availability.

Book Faery reviewers have the right to refrain from reviewing a book for whatever reason and are not obligated to provide a reason to the author.

  
Review Format and Linkage
In the book review, we will provide:
  • The book's cover image
  • Page count
  • Book format
  • Release date
  • How we obtained the book
  • The book's genre, the series title, and the book series order
  • A link to the book's Goodreads page
  • Link to buy the book on Amazon (No one is an Amazon associate, so we do not profit)

Reviews will be listed on:
  • Amazon
  • Goodreads
  • Twitter
  
Blog tours, Author Interviews, Giveaway & Guest Posting
We are currently not accepting requests for any of these avenues of advertising at this time.
