Cover Wars is a weekly event at Book Faery posted every Monday. Two covers will have a "face off," and it will be up to the readers to decide who is the victor and who is the loser. This is a great way for readers to have their voice be heard, while also promoting new/old books in the process.
Last week on Cover Wars, we had a face off between Siren by Tricia Rayburn and Firelight by Sophie Jordan.
The votes are in, the scores tallied up, and the winner of the first ever Cover Wars is...
Firelight
Week 2:
Forgive My Fins vs. Nightshade
A second set of YA head-shots.
Both covers have a second "element" to them.

The mermaid, or the wolf?

NIGHTSHADE
ReplyDeleteNightshade just a tad more. Like them both :)
ReplyDeleteNightshade! I love the colors to it. The purple and red really go together
ReplyDeleteGeez that's rough!
ReplyDeleteI read both, I loved both.
I think I'll go with Nightshade though =D
Love the sea blues and greens of Forgive my Fins!
ReplyDeleteI really love both covers, but I think that Nightshade is just a little more striking to me. I like warmer colors in general.
ReplyDeleteI think I am going to have to be different and go with FMFs. I am always drawn to the greens....
ReplyDeleteThis is a tough one! Both are gorgeous. But my favorite color is purple, so I have to go with Nightshade!
ReplyDeleteNightshade. Love the colours, and it looks less childish.
ReplyDeleteForgive My Fins! It's so much more vibrant and unique.
ReplyDeleteNIGHTSHADE! I'm not a fan of the blue lips on Forgive My Fins. And I love the model's eyes on Nightshade and the flowers with drops of blood LOL!
ReplyDeleteThis one is tough, but I'm going to have to go with Nightshade. I love the blood on the flowers, and the purple more than I like the green and blue.
ReplyDeleteVery hard to choose, they're both really awesome covers, but I'd choose Forgive My Fins - I love the blue lips and just the look and feel of the cover - it's very evocative of a mermaid to me.
ReplyDeleteI love them both but I love Forgive My Fins :)
ReplyDeleteI love Nightshade - love those flowers! (I'm a big purple fan too ;)
ReplyDeleteNightshade
ReplyDeleteWhy? I am a guy!
Definitely Nightshade. It's gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteAw, I like them both--but NIGHTSHADE seems more like my kind of book. *g*
ReplyDelete-J
Nightshade. They're both pretty, but Nightshade's cover says there's something awesome in here you want to read.
ReplyDeleteI love them both, but I think I'm going to go with Mermaid on this one :-)
ReplyDeleteI like Nightshade better. I think it's the colors.
ReplyDeleteNightshade - I'm not sure why but the blue lips on Forgive my fins creep me out a little. Also like the eyes and red on the white flowers of the Nightshade cover.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI would choose Nightshade..The different eye color to the color of the book makes it just pop.
:)

Nightshade, because I like the contrast between the yellow eyes and purplish-blue of the rest of the cover. Besides, the blue lips on Forgive My Fins are kind of gaudy.
ReplyDeleteThis is a tough choice. I like both covers, but Nightshade wins for the contrast.

ReplyDeleteI am voting for Nightshade, I like the flowers in the foreground.
ReplyDeleteNightshade because I love the colors!
ReplyDeleteI like both covers but Nightshade just looks better. Sorry, FmF!!!
ReplyDeleteI like the colors they used on Forgive My Fins, but they could have angled her face just a bit better. My vote goes to Nightshade, much more striking for me! ^_^
ReplyDeleteNightshade!
ReplyDeleteI like both, but the blue lips in FMF are too distracting from the rest of the gorgeous cover.
