A Note:

6/2/13

I once told myself: IF I am accepted into grad school, this blog would no longer be updated. As it turns out, in April, I received news of my acceptance for the Fall 2013 semester, where I will attain a Master's degree of Science in Nutrition.

Running a blog, as many of you may already know, is a demanding side job once the excitement wears off. And once I fell out of the blogging community's loop (have you SEEN how many blogs there are now? Wow!), it was like the kiss of death. Despite my best efforts, I couldn't get into a blogging routine once this happened due to the disconnect I felt from the community.

So I took a break. I struggled with the loss and with missing my blog. And then I realized I didn't have to run Book Faery to still be a book reviewer; I could read my books and post reviews online. I'm still a book review blogger, just not in the traditional sense.

I'll still be online. You can chat with me on Twitter, where I'll be posting links to my reviews and talking books. I'll also be posting links to nutrition articles. And if you'd like to connect with me where I guarantee I will post reviews, just add me as a friend on Goodreads.

So that's all, folks! It's been a fun and amazing journey, and I thank you all for listening to my thoughts about books. I hope we all can keep in touch elsewhere :)

For Review:

  • Sapphique by Catherine Fisher
  • The Replacement by Brenna Yovanoff
  • Virals by Kathy Reichs
I actually received these three books last week, courtesy of Penguin, but I forgot to take a picture of them.  Thank you Penguin, you're awesome!  Expect a giveaway of The Replacement, because I already got a copy at BEA.  I'm not sure if I'll also be doing a giveaway for Sapphique, because I think I might be giving the ARC to my friend.

  • Afterlife by Merrie Destefano
  • Nevermore by Kelly Creagh
I was so excited to find out I won an ARC of Afterlife!  The cover is so pretty, and the story sounds extremely interesting.

Likewise, when I discovered that Simon & Schuster was going to send me a review copy of Nevermore, I kind of squealed.  I've been in the mood for a popular girl/goth story.  Cannot wait to dig in to this one either!

  • Heartless by Anne Elisabeth Stengl
  • Rising Shadow by Jacquelyn Wheeler
I received Heartless via the publisher.  This was another book that I've been looking forward to reading.

Rising Shadow was a book that I've been checking out, but probably wouldn't end up buying (due to an insanely huge TBR pile, and the fact that I'm kind of broke).  But then Eleni from La Femme Readers came to my rescue!  Thanks so much Eleni :)

  • Forgive My Fins bookmark and tattoo
  • Tell Me a Secret bookmarks, magnet, sticker, pin, and chapter preview.
I won the Forgive My Fins swag via Twitter, and the Tell Me a Secret swag via a contest on Holly's blog.

  • Swag: 5 bookmarks, a flower pin, flower hair pins, and a picture frame.
All of these beautiful items are courtesy of Michelle Zink.  She did a swag giveaway on her blog the other day, and I was one of the 50 winners!  I'll be giving away 4 of the bookmarks on Twitter at some point.

That's it for me this week!  I also got Tim Tams in the mail yesterday (my muse is currently doing a happy dance, while my body curses at me).  What about all of you?

  12. I'm interested to know what you think of Sapphique. I really liked Incarceron but I was disappointed with the sequel. :(

Here's my IMM post if you have time to check it out. :)
