WARNING: This post is PICTURE HEAVY.
I felt bad for the people who were missing out on Book Expo America this year. Some have never attended, let alone have heard about it... which is why I tried to take a few pictures for you all to see how HUGE it was. I know before I started blogging that I never even knew what BEA stood for, let alone what it was, so I was extremely excited about going on Wednesday and Thursday!
Sorry about the wait for the second batch of pictures! It’s been one of those weekends, all things considered.
GO HERE if you missed Part I of the pictures.
GO HERE if you wanted to see all the books I got from BEA this week.

THURSDAY
So before I begin, here are my two super awesome Harlequin totes that I got during both of the “hour” signings. I must say this, they are cool, and really comfy on the shoulders. Plus, they’re sturdy! I had about 15 books (half hard covers) in one of these babies when I was at BEA. Now, they are holding onto my BEA books at home :) And yes, those are more books to the left of the bags. But they’re for the August event!
For the life of me, I can’t remember which booth this was at. I think Heather and I were wandering around at this point Thursday morning, and I was simply taking random photo after photo for the blog lol.
I do remember this picture though, and I suggest looking at the larger version of the photo. Straight ahead was the first floor to the Javits Center. That’s where a lot of people (minus press) would sign in. When I first got to Javits on Wednesday, I walked around there. It was packed!
Went to the “new releases” section which was to the right of the stairs in the photo above. Was looking for any books I recognized (not many, mind you) and stumbled upon the Class of 2K10 shelf. I want 13 to Life!
So while Heather and I were wandering around on Thursday morning, we stumbled upon a number of peculiar characters, Zagat mascot being one of them. There was also a clown (which looked like a hobo clown to me) lurking around the autographing area. I would have hated being stuck in that costume during BEA.
This is Tricia and I right before she signed my copy of Siren. Cannot wait to read that book! :) You can also see my backpack strap. I think her signing was at 10:00, and I was already ready to topple over with the amount of books I had piled in there (it was already overstuffed).
Another attempt of mine to get a picture of the sheer chaos that was the Autograph Area. If you make it bigger, you can kind of see the rows of people better. We were waiting on line for Gena Showalter during this. You can see the cover of Unraveled in this picture :)
Or, you can just look at this! Theses are what the signs looked like. They’d just lift off the current picture to reveal the next hour’s signing. I kind of wanted to steal all the posters while I was waiting on line…
Yay it’s the second time I saw Gena! This is after she signed my copy of Unraveled. And she told me that the copy was uncorrected so I better not be too critical lol. And now that I think of it (totally ADD moment by the way), I’m kinda jealous of all these authors who I met who have wavy/curly hair that’s not a frizz-bomb. I try to pull that off? Forget it, it’s frizz central the second I step out into like .01% humid conditions.
Shortly after getting my book signed by Gena, I got in line with Heather for the Mistwood signing. THAT’S RIGHT Leah Cypess is posing with MY book!
While waiting for Paranormalcy at the Harper booth, Firelight popped up on the screen, so I took a picture! Sorry about the blurry-ness. That woman to the right of the picture kept freaking out whenever I took a picture. I think she was worried she was getting in the way lol.
Here’s a new book that looks so cool that flashed on the screen also. It’s called Romeo & Juliet & Vampires. Not gonna lie, I’m fairly interested in this, despite my wariness of vampires in general as of late.
While lurking about the Penguin booth, Heather and I stumbled upon a JR Ward cover. Decided to take a picture for all you JR Ward fans. While I haven’t read the books for BDB, I think I will be checking out this new series :)
There was also this pretty Rachel Caine cover right next to JR Ward’s! This is another series that I’m going to have to check out, especially since I like Caine’s Weather Warden and Outcast series. Have any of you read it? Is it worth it?
Another Spanish Harlequin picture. I’m telling you, Heather and I were Harlequin lurkers during this whole thing, and I don’t even know why! I did think their booth looked pretty cool though.
Heather took this picture of me on her camera between the two posters. I think I accidentally butt bumped JR Ward when I was leaning forward. Scared the crap out of me, I thought I was gonna knock the whole thing down LMAO.
This is Melissa Marr! I saw her randomly walking around the first day of BEA, but I couldn’t stop to say hi. But then she came over during the Jennifer L Barnes signing (or rather, the long wait since her time was pushed back by 30 minutes) and I asked if I could take a picture with her. I missed her signing on Wednesday because of my final :(
And I saved one of the best for last. The weed book I was mentioning to people. For the life of me, I could not figure out WHY there was a signing for this book. I really couldn’t.
Actually, I lied. These stickers are the best, and therefore, the last picture to sum up my BEA posts. “Do me with your biscotti” … HAH I love it.
Anywho that’s it. Thanks for checking out the pictures, I hope you all enjoyed them. Likewise, I hope a lot of you will be able to come to BEA next year (I believe it’s on the weekend this time). It was great meeting a bunch of bloggers, and I’m looking forward to meeting so many more next year :)
Haha! Those last pictures were hilarious.
ReplyDeleteOHMYGOSH, thats AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a fantastic time despite the feet-constantly-hurting thing and fatigue.
And I'll admit, those bags of books are jealous worthy.
I guess I'll just have to cross my fingers and hope I can make it next year. :)
Love, Hannah
Great post and pictures! Your arm must be feeling like Gumby with all your book swag you got.
ReplyDeleteGreat post - love the pics! I was there too but did not get a chance to meet you. Glad you had fun :)
ReplyDelete@elizabeth: I agree! I wish I could get a few of those stickers for a giveaway :P
ReplyDelete@Hannah: That would be so cool if you could go next year. Let me know, we should definitely meet up :)
The feet weren't hurting so much as my upper back and shoulders. Man, I need to bring shoulder pads or something for next year.
@KB: Hey there lady! Hope your cruise was fun :) And yes, it definitely did lol!
@Sheila: Aw you did? Well next year we should try to meet up!
Looks like a fantastic time all around. The Fallen Angels series is good (first book is already out)--I think you would enjoy it!
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing! So many great pictures...I almost feel like I've been there :)
ReplyDeletewell...except that I didn't get any books or meet any authors, so really I don't ;)
Gena Showalter is gorgeous! I'm really looking forward to trying her new YA.
@Felicia: Oh is it really? Well... Then I will have to invest in it when my TBR pile slowly starts to dwindle away. As it is, it just mutated hehe...
ReplyDelete@Allison: Awesome! Glad you enjoyed :) I'll definitely be reviewing Intertwined, so maybe my review will push you to dive in even sooner
I am really jealous:)I love the
ReplyDeleteMorganville Vampires series, I actually am giving away Fade Out at my blog! I hadn't seen the Cover for Ghost town yet though. Did you buy those books or were they free(naive me)?
Erika, unfortunately, they weren't giving away any of Rachel Caine's books. Trust me, I would have been the first on that line for a chance to start her new series lol.
ReplyDeleteIf you mean all the books from IMM and the signed ones, then yes, they were all free :)
Hi Tori! I enjoyed looking at the pictures you took at the BEA. I'm all the way from Malaysia and I don't think I'll be attending any BEA soon. :D It's nice to see what goes on at a book expo in the US! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteCool! If I am still blogging next year I so want to go!!
ReplyDeleteHey there Josette :) Glad you enjoyed the pictures!
ReplyDeleteErika, let me know. Would love to meet more bloggers next year
