A Note:

6/2/13

I once told myself: IF I am accepted into grad school, this blog would no longer be updated. As it turns out, in April, I received news of my acceptance for the Fall 2013 semester, where I will attain a Master's degree of Science in Nutrition.

Running a blog, as many of you may already know, is a demanding side job once the excitement wears off. And once I fell out of the blogging community's loop (have you SEEN how many blogs there are now? Wow!), it was like the kiss of death. Despite my best efforts, I couldn't get into a blogging routine once this happened due to the disconnect I felt from the community.

So I took a break. I struggled with the loss and with missing my blog. And then I realized I didn't have to run Book Faery to still be a book reviewer; I could read my books and post reviews online. I'm still a book review blogger, just not in the traditional sense.

I'll still be online. You can chat with me on Twitter, where I'll be posting links to my reviews and talking books. I'll also be posting links to nutrition articles. And if you'd like to connect with me where I guarantee I will post reviews, just add me as a friend on Goodreads.

So that's all, folks! It's been a fun and amazing journey, and I thank you all for listening to my thoughts about books. I hope we all can keep in touch elsewhere :)

ENDS THIS WEDNESDAY

  • To Review: Whisper of a Witch by Suza Kates
  • To Review: The King's Bastard by Rowena Cory Daniels
I received both titles via the authors, and both sound awesome.  What's even cooler?  The King's Bastard is part of a trilogy, and each book will be released a month apart.  That means no long wait for the readers--score!

  • Publisher: Anthropology of an American Girl by Hilary Thayer Hamann
This isn't a paranormal, so unless I fall in love with this book, I'll probably only post a review up on Goodreads and Amazon when I finish it.

And last, but certainly not least.....

YES I GOT A KINDLE!  I finally gave in after seeing the price cut (I was originally gonna wait for Kindle 3 to come out... whenever that would be, but impatience got the better of me).  I seriously wish I didn't wait as long as I did.  This thing is so cool, and the keypad doesn't annoy me AT ALL, which is something I had major worries about.

That's it for me.  What did you all get?

    3. I'm still holding out for the Kindle...seeing all the paperbooks on my shelf I have a hard time justifying it. Then I see all the ebooks I have and I'm back to wanting it. Decisions, decisions!

    7. Yes I finally have! And I'm loving it so far ;)

      ---------------

Missie, is the gela skin the silicone cover? I ended up buying a hard case cover (I think?) for it. Is the Gela Skin better?

Buy the books you normally would either be iffy about, or you know you probably won't read more than once in e-book format. Then buy the paperbacks and hardcovers of your favorite authors. Ever since I started book blogging, I've accumulated A LOTTTT of printed books. My room's not be enough!

Thank you! I've started transferring ebook ARCs that authors have sent me to my Kindle. And then I sent something from NetGalley. And I bought a book! Lol

    8. Thanks Corrine :) I'm very excited to read the two books. I'll actually be starting one over the read-a-thon if I catch up to the other books I'm supposed to read. Either way, expect reviews soon! :)

Haha thanks Stephanie! Yeah I was playing with mine. The PDFs are kinda weird to adjust to, as are the book lists. I wish there were folders I could make :/

    10. Great books, I'm, so glad to see that you got a Kindle despite your worry about the keypad, because that is my worry to, and now I know its not that bad from a fellow person who thought it would be.

    11. Once I finally got my Kindle, I couldn't believe I had put off getting one for so long!

I hadn't heard of The King's Bastard before, but it looks good. Looking forward to your review of it!
