A Note:

6/2/13

I once told myself: IF I am accepted into grad school, this blog would no longer be updated. As it turns out, in April, I received news of my acceptance for the Fall 2013 semester, where I will attain a Master's degree of Science in Nutrition.

Running a blog, as many of you may already know, is a demanding side job once the excitement wears off. And once I fell out of the blogging community's loop (have you SEEN how many blogs there are now? Wow!), it was like the kiss of death. Despite my best efforts, I couldn't get into a blogging routine once this happened due to the disconnect I felt from the community.

So I took a break. I struggled with the loss and with missing my blog. And then I realized I didn't have to run Book Faery to still be a book reviewer; I could read my books and post reviews online. I'm still a book review blogger, just not in the traditional sense.

I'll still be online. You can chat with me on Twitter, where I'll be posting links to my reviews and talking books. I'll also be posting links to nutrition articles. And if you'd like to connect with me where I guarantee I will post reviews, just add me as a friend on Goodreads.

So that's all, folks! It's been a fun and amazing journey, and I thank you all for listening to my thoughts about books. I hope we all can keep in touch elsewhere :)

BOTS 2: Linda Poitevin

Sidekicks Don’t Come Sexier than Seth…
by Linda Poitevin

When Tori invited me to take part in this challenge, I really didn’t plan to use it as a platform for self- promotion. After all, there are a lot of amazing sidekicks out there—male and female, funny and sexy, and just plain great. There’s just one problem. Call me biased, but honestly? None has ever had the same impact on me as Seth Benjamin in my upcoming SINS OF THE ANGELS.

When this man first strode into an earlier draft of the story, his presence was so powerful that he threatened to derail the entire thing. Seriously. I went from an unexpected knock at the door—I’m one of those pantsers and had no more idea of who was on that porch just then than my heroine, Alex, did—to trying (and failing) to wrestle his character into submission. I finally had to promise him his own story just to get him to back off a little … which is when a single title paranormal morphed into a dark urban fantasy series. I don’t know about you, but in my book (literally!), any man that can do that is beyond amazing.

Of course, it doesn’t hurt that he stands six feet, six inches tall, is broad-shouldered and built, and has eyes so dark they’re nearly black, with hair to match. And that’s just the outside. Inside, he’s self-deprecating, possesses a razor-sharp wit, and has the potential to be very, very …

But that would be a spoiler, and we can’t have that, now, can we? ;) If you’re intrigued, SINS will be out next month (September 27th). Read it and judge for yourself … and if your heart gives an extra little kick when you meet Seth, drop me a note to let me know I’m not alone.

Giveaway

One lucky winner will not only receive the two books below, but also some super awesome swag!

A detective with a secret lineage. An undercover Hunter with a bullet-proof soul. And a world made to pay for the sins of an angel…

Homicide detective Alexandra Jarvis answers to no one. Especially not to the new partner assigned to her in the middle of a gruesome serial killer case—a partner who is obstructive, irritatingly magnetic, and arrogant as hell.

Aramael is a Power—a hunter of the Fallen Angels. A millennium ago, he sentenced his own brother to eternal exile for crimes against humanity. Now his brother is back and wreaking murderous havoc in the mortal realm. To find him, Aramael must play second to a human police officer who wants nothing to do with him and whose very bloodline threatens both his mission and his soul.

Now, faced with a fallen angel hell-bent on triggering the apocalypse, Alex and Aramael have no choice but to join forces, because only together can they stop the end of days.

Gwyn Jacobs doesn't believe in fairy tales. Ever since her ex-husband walked out four years ago, abandoning her with their three-year-old daughter and four-month-old twins, Gwyn has had to be mother, father, and bread-winner all rolled into one. Her own scarred heart and failed marriage aside, she refuses to open up her children's lives to the possibility of another heartbreak, so she has an unbending policy of no dating and no unattached men in her home...Until her very own fairy tale falls into her lap - and the hero won't take no for an answer.

  8. This does sound good =) I see on the title of your book it says The Grigori. I'm reading something now about that..The Fallen..does it all revolve around one angel that was kicked out of heaven? I'm going to have to do my research. I'm really enjoying reading about fallen angels. I'd love to win your book. Please count me in. Thanks.
